Allright, time to hit the trail. After a couple of great days in Wellington and a few unplanned days to dot i’s and cross t’s in Picton, I’m about to start the Te Araroa across New Zealand’s South Island. First stop, the Queen Charlotte Track.
A big thank you to my incredibly kind and generous hosts in Wellington – Andrew and Prue, and John and Allison – who helped make the hike prep so much better than it would have been. Thanks for your hospitality and for sharing your knowledge of New Zealand’s trail with me. It was great to get to know all of you and I look forward to the next time we meet.
I also want to tip my hat to the crazy horde of freethinking revelers I met at Kiwiburn. That was one hell of an experience! Keep making the world more fun and colorful.
As for everyone else, see you guys in 60-ish days when I’m done with Hike #5. I’ll have sporadic internet access when I’m on the trail so I’ll check in when I can. Until then, be well.
